Donations from all around went to furnish an apartment for a refugee family in need of a roof over their heads and some friendly faces to help them move on to another chapter in their difficult lives.
LSR volunteers collected, sorted and transported furniture and household goods. Beds and chairs and tables were hauled up treacherous, winding stairs in an ancient apartment. Many hands and knees and backs were involved!
Volunteers sorted and washed dishes, towels, bedding and other household items. They carried bags and bags of these items up the stairs, arranged the kitchen, made the beds. They bought bags and bags of food and filled the fridge and cupboards.
Then the family moved in, overwhelmed, stunned, thankful.
Thanks to all the many people who made this possible by donating, sorting, cleaning, buying, carrying, washing ….caring. It was a very good day.
