Food collection went well this week and deliveries were made to nine Syrian families living in Beziers.
On Tuesday a meeting was held with the Syrian families, representatives of our group and CIMADE. CIMADE is an organization that helps foreigners in practical ways to integrate in French society. With the help of a translator, the families were able to ask questions and get a better understanding of their living situation.
During the week five more people arrived in the apartments in Beziers. We have not yet had the opportunity to know more about them and know what needs they may have.
On Thursday, one of our volunteers helped to drive eight people from the Beziers families to Montpellier so they were able to check out their legal status.
Another LSR meeting was held on Friday to discuss the possibilities of our long-term commitment and the practical implications of gathering and delivering food on a weekly basis for the families now living in Beziers.
Members of our LSR group, spread out all over the Languedoc, have been active in gathering food and other items. Volunteers are planning trips to take clothing and supplies to other locations in Europe where they are needed.
